-Always have good Hygiene and Health. Keep your gear and GI clean. Wash your hands and sanitize before coming on the mat. If you are sick it is ok to miss class.
No shoes on the mat. Wear your shoes/sandals off the mat. Nobody wants germs on the mat!
-Safety is not an option. Keep each other safe and you can train longer. Empty pockets, remove jewelry, trim your nails, and store gear safely. No rough housing/horseplay!
-Tap, Tap again, and STOP if somebody Taps or says stop. The only way to survive without injury is to remain humble and be a good sport. You learn on the mat sometimes you need to experience a difficult position in order to get out of or avoid a difficult position in the future. If at any time you aren’t comfortable or feel like you could be injured TAP or say TAP!
-Respect is earned. Treat others how you expect to be treated. Bow, slap, and bump before and after you train! Listen to your superiors and pay attention. Develop a switch to know when to be in teach mode or train mode.
-Respect the Mats. This is sacred ground in Jiu-Jitsu. Always bow on and off. No food, drinks, or gum in the training area. Please help keep the facilities clean if you see a mess!
-Represent Solid Rock Jiu-Jitsu on and off the mat. This is your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Family. Don’t let emotions control your actions. Don’t act in anger or disrespect another Jiu-Jitsu School ever. Pay attention in class, seminars, events, and when others are training.
-Have fun!
